Effective Date: 1st January 2023

This Terms of Service Agreement ("Agreement") is a legal agreement between you, the end user, and Locate UK. By accessing, downloading, or using the products and services offered by Locate UK, including but not limited to our UK Postcode Database ("Product"), you agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement.

1. License Grant

Locate UK grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Product subject to the terms of this Agreement. This license does not constitute a sale of the Product or any copies thereof.

Usage Rights

  • You may install the Product on one computer at a time.
  • You are permitted to physically transfer the Product from one computer to another, provided it is used on only one computer at a time.
  • You may make one copy of the Product solely for backup or archival purposes.
  • The Product may be used in a single application, like one website or domain.

Prohibitions

  • The Product cannot be used on more than one computer simultaneously.
  • Reselling, renting, leasing, lending, or distributing the Product in any form is prohibited.
  • The Product, or any part thereof, cannot be used as a trademark or service mark.
  • Posting or distributing the Product on any online platform without prior written permission from Locate UK is prohibited.
  • The Product cannot be sold or distributed as stock files or part of a digital library.

2. Copyright and Ownership

All copyrights, trademarks, and intellectual property rights related to the Product are owned by Locate UK. Unauthorized copying, sharing, or distribution is prohibited and will lead to termination of this license.

3. Disclaimer of Warranties

Locate UK provides the Product “as is” without warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. The entire risk as to the quality and performance of the Product is with you.

4. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Locate UK be liable for any special, incidental, indirect, or consequential damages whatsoever arising out of the use of or inability to use the Product.

5. Termination

This Agreement is effective until terminated. Your rights under this Agreement will terminate automatically without notice if you fail to comply with any term(s) of this Agreement.

6. General

  • This Agreement is governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
  • This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and Locate UK regarding the Product.

Additional Agreements

Enterprise License Agreement

  • Use of the Product is permitted on all computers within your enterprise.
  • The Product may be used in multiple applications run by your enterprise.

Redistribution License Agreement

  • Grants a non-exclusive, perpetual license to distribute the "Postcode Database" within one product.
  • You may modify and redistribute the "Postcode Database," with changes reported back to Locate UK.

Reseller Agreement

  • Resellers must obtain a separate License Agreement to incorporate Locate UK's databases into products for resale.
